I'm so glad to have found out this page at last. I love whitehead and Levinas and Laozhu and ... you. Professor, if I have enough money then I will try to go beside you to study Whitehead' thought. But unhappily too many people of my county(South Corea) protect me from the trying. Because they pursue Necrophilia. I am a victim by those people. They use satellites and radiation lamps. So many victims in Corea have been mudered to these days. And maybe you already have known this fact. It is known that victims are in Corea and in Japan and in Canada and in USA. Is it right? What matters are happening? Who can help us? What should we do? Mass medias are over the line which divides 'us' and 'them'. How can we fight against Mass Media? They are our enimies. Thank you for your web site. Saw the dreamachine at ClairObscur Gallery last nite and thought it worth a try. I think maybe there are strobes now that can be set at different intervals? Like a metranome (sp?) for sound intervals. Have you been working with that, found a web that we can use to strobe our pc monitors?

Yes there are strobe machines that do similar things... some can be quite harsh. This is quite a cute site. Close your eyes and get near the screen (not for use if you suffer from epilepsy or similar conditions). Scrolling up and down slightly changes the resonance I think.

what pleasure i have in visiting your site! I have been feeding 4 cubs ( now teenagers!) since march, their mum has never been seen (apart from being heard in late dec. 2004 mating season.) 2 of the babies are here every day, waiting for me to feed them and the other two are very shy ( i dont see them often. the other two come when they see me! one especially will come within 3 feet of me and mostly feeds during the day, every morning he is waiting for me to feed him! They are beautiful creatures and i have learnt so much from them, they are even aware if a stranger is present when i am feeding them. What has shocked me is the amount of negative opinion when i tell people i am feeding them! i cannot believe how people can be so small mminded!! some find it truly shocking that i feed them. My children are now

Diary of a novice who discovers Paul’s Permuted site October 17th 2005 Novice: Anthony Robinson Tony Guitar - closet guitar player Others, same web name: Norway/Sweden professional Western and California: professional guitarist. I am new to the internet, Jan/05 and new to blogs March/05 First impressions were that I didn’t focus on the sight at all. I saw several delightful topics in the right side bar so knowing I would return to really look at things, I diverted into checking things *Blue* . Hours later I came back and began looking around.

II was stopped cold, when I saw the neat matrix of boxes providing a site map. Not only was this neat and easy to look over, it became obvious that this was no ordinary site. This *map* made it clear to me that this site had depth, it had interests that reflected my own. After some consideration. I decided to switch to your diary for an overall concept. The diary was captivating. I carefully read the whole thing… switching off only to look at the foxes, [absolutely excellent] great insight the cat -fox interaction, but so logical, judging by how our cat rules over our Lab. Other, more time demanding technical branches will be looked at later.

It occurs to me that this is a valuable tutorial. In many places over my head, but offering the insights to surmount these not yet understood things. So many great things to learn and get *into*. Two manuals from the thrift store 1= Java, 2=HTML….. Study Java first? ] Print off the 10 pages of diary. Thinking … How much laser powder are these 10 black pages going to eat up? Why the print out? We agree on design values of Opera for instance and several other mutually agreed on ideas. What a great reference this diary is going to be.

Paul, a salt of the earth kind of guy. Working and progressing with interesting things daily and taking the time to make these steps and discoveries known so that who knows how many others may benefit. So I write these first impressions to provide a little thank - you. A little feed-back. Feedback I notice that is not so freely given by many in the blogosphere. So many visits to my sites. So few comments left behind.

Since I am in the basics learning stage. I have established several blogs.
http://BendGovernment.blogspot.com [Mod Blog - non - starter…….poor design]
http://BendGovt.blog.ca [German]……..[doubtful design..nice people]
http://TonyGuitar.blogspot.com [Blogger / Google - SanFrancisco - cheery]>br> http://Anchorpin.Redpin.com [Wordpress]
http://My.Opera.com/T-G/ [Good design / feature rich, yet not cranky] [my choice as winner so far]

I may allow one or two of these to fade away over time. I do believe in redundancy, that is all eggs spread to various baskets to avoid total loss on any severe mishap. So Paul, Once again, you being away ahead but we both are of similar wavelength, somewhat technically inclined and analytical as well. I suspect time is our mutual limiter. Personally, there are times that I skip eating for the pursuit of interests. I have two microwaves. Instant coffee and soup ready in 2 minutes. Still, anytime you are in need of light diversion, a comment at the newest and most preferred My.Opera.com/T-G especially where you change a comments0 to 1, would be most valued. There are some very good sites in my sidebar blogroll…[ A very short blogroll] I don’t really see the point of listing dozens] You probably know Techspot.com/news/ Writings on Opera. Very nice to discover * permuted *. I purposely refuse to look it up. The real meaning will jell gradually. Muted permission.. hmm 73s TG

Hi, in answer to the question: "can a process be directly apprehended, or can it only be "known" through inference or representation?" In process philosophy terms, the process cannot be directly apprehended. The process is the non-temporal experience of 'becoming' and is wholly subjective/private to the entity that is undergoing the process.

So far as I can tell, Whitehead did not call his system "Process Philosophy." He called it "The Philosophy of Organism." What's the difference? See for yourself at www.starlarvae.org --- which provides navigation (telos) to the concrescence of HISTORY.

From: EiP
Posted on: Friday, December 30, 2005, 11:26 AM

Heresiarch, Thanks for the link. Will check it out. For what it's worth, one of the strengths (for me) of Whitehead is that it allows an explicit dismissal of teleology in favour of creativity (creative advance) and novelty.
You are of course correct about the 'Philosophy of Organism', but 'process philosophy' is in much more common usage today and allows links with related systems (such as Hegel's, which is also a process philosophy).

Hi John, In response to the above, the amount of food I leave out is actually quite small... (about a quarter of a tin of dog food at most). FWIW the main beneficiary at the moment is a vixen in relatively poor condition. The dog fox (the one on all the photos) has evidently found other feeding areas over the winter.
