A Cormorant Gets a Fish

Signs are posted all around the pond, and the message is clear. Fishing is not allowed.

But when did posting a sign stop a cormorant from going after a hearty meal. 🙂

The photos of the cormorant with its catch were taken directly into a mix of bright reflection from the surface of the water, and deep shade from the trees at the edge of the pond. Inevitably they lack a little quality. The cormorant seems happy though!

    Nice catch!!!
    But efforts to swallow such a big fish remind me on a gull we’ve seen here, trying (and succeeding) to swallow a big starfish 😯

    Darko, that’s a great picture of the gull and starfish! It’s amazing what they manage to get down.
