Today was a quiet day, and the only photos I've taken have been in the garden between rain showers.
Bee and lenten rose
The spawn continues to develop
The newts are active
And overhead, a sparrowhawk keeps watch
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 40D. The bee was taken with the Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG macro lens; the spawn with the same lens but with a 31mm extension tube. The newts were photographed with the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens, and the sparrowhawk with the EF 400mm f/5.6L USM lens.

28 Mar 2010You have a wonderful garden! And with such a variety of wildlife. It's always amazing to think how many of these animals, insects and birds are sometimes so close to us.

29 Mar 2010Lois, it looks more wonderful in photos than in life, and believe me I sometimes have to search for the subjects but we are quite lucky. 🙂

29 Mar 2010Mark, I didn't see that programme, but you're right. It's incredibly busy out there even when nothing is happening 🙂

30 Mar 2010Adele, the hawk flew past several times, but only came in relatively close once. Nice though and the sun was low in the sky.
