She's charming, Words! I've noticed that most of the quadrupeds that yawn tend to "reverse roll" the tip of the tongue … foxes, wolves, cats, both big and small, and other mammals, although I must confess that I've never seen a horse or a cow yawn. Perhaps I just don't remember. I don't think the primates roll the tongue in that way, but I may have missed it, too. I wonder if this might be a common trait inherited from a common ancestor, far back in time, before these animals were differentiated into species, much like the scratching with a rear leg?

dW, she is a very sweet little fox indeed. Interesting observation on the tongue roll. I'll try to keep an eye out for other species and see if I can collect a 'yawn' file!
