There was plenty of footage on the trail camera last night, so I've put together another video sequence. It's not quite as lively as yesterday's, but I have fixed the overexposure so the quality is slightly better. Plus a couple of photos. They are still very shy and it may take a while to gain their confidence. I'm using a 200mm lens so that I don't have to encroach on them too much.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM. Video from the Bushnell Trophy Cam HD.

28 Apr 2013Yep. The exposure is a lot better. Might even go down a little more … ½f/stop or so. The problem is that you're covering a pretty deep area, front-to-back, so you're kinda "hoping" most of the time … "shooting at the brown", as the Colonel used to say.
I believe that some of the newer Photoshops will allow you to work on movies, but they're really €xp€n$iv€.
Damn, those kits are cute!

28 Apr 2013dW, that's the best I'll be able to do with exposure. The camera has two video settings for the LEDs (high and low). No control on aperture or focus. I could use Premier Elements (the latest version is much improved). It's not so much the cost of the software, but the time it takes to edit footage. For now I'm sticking with Windows MovieMaker, which is quick and dirty, but lacks finesse.

Great footage! Are you able to tell if this is Shutterbug's family?

29 Apr 2013Viveka, thanks! I don't think that Shutterbug is the father but it is very difficult to tell with foxes. they have complicated social lives. He may have a family somewhere else.
