Not many photos today, but the first two give a better idea than yesterday's of how the sun appears over the eastern hills. The trees filter the light a little, but it is blindingly bright as it reflects on the water.
The aim of course is to capture some of the wildlife in the golden light… not much today, but these ducks cooperated.
A heron had been lurking in the shadows, but eventually took to the sky. This is not a great shot but gives a flavour of what I was watching.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens.

7 Dec 2011Aren't those damned flares annoying? They're almost impossible to get out. I rejoiced when I found "Lens flare" in Photoshop, but then discovered that it puts it in! It should take it out!
The ducks in the golden light are wonderful. One of them isn't a mallard, I think … it seems smaller. He's really trying to catch up!

8 Dec 2011dW, flare is an occupational hazard with those shots. I agree about the Photoshop control, though I have been known to use it for festive pictures.
There are a number of smaller ducks on the pond, probably domesticated/feral.
