A very standard set today, taken early this morning just as the sun was coming up (and only a little while before the clouds descended, the winds whipped up and the rain started to fall).

Being the pond, there was of course a cormorant on hand.

There are at least three coots on the pond, so I guess there's a chance of cootlets in two or three months time.

The black-headed gulls are still wintering here and outnumbering all the other pnd birds.

Lastly, a bird that I believe may be unique… it looks uncannily like a bat-bird to me (robin was lurking in the shade, cheerily calling out to him :right: ).

  1. The water is rendered beautifully in #1 (which is not to say that #2 is not), and the batbird is a gas!

  2. dW, thanks. The early light on the water is always good. It's usually the calmest time of the day which helps with the very gentle ripples.

  3. Lat bird looks like it has ears 😛

  4. Darko 😀
