A relatively extended sequence photographed at lunchtime today of a buzzard being mobbed by a pair of crows.
And now, to sign off, a brief clip from last night's trail cam. Three of the local foxes appear together.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. Video from the Bushnell Trophy Cam.

1 Dec 2012A week ago I was watching a young bald eagle being mobbed by united gulls and crows :left: At first, it didn't pay attention but then needed to leave the area because there were more than ten "enemies" around :faint:

1 Dec 2012Nice sequence, Words.
The odd part is, sometimes the crows don't pay any attention at all.

2 Dec 2012Impressive air combat 😎

2 Dec 2012dW, that's true, and these crows live more or less in the next tree to the buzzards so they must rub along ok most of the time. I wonder whether it's seasonal (young chicks in spring/early summer and shortage of food in winter).

2 Dec 2012Darko, gulls and crows can be very protective of their territory. It never quite works though. The raptors always come back.

4 Dec 2012Nice sequence. Oddly, despite seeing hundreds of raptors on my travels in Asia, I didn't see any corvid mobbing at all.

4 Dec 2012Adele, welcome home to the chilly blast of winter. 'Hundreds of raptors'. Sounds good indeed!
