Brighton Seafront

Brighton seafront is in a state of decay, and apparently is currently preparing a bid to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. To be sure the Victorian arches (home to all manner of artisans) are crumbling and significant work is needed to keep the historic seafront standing.

Meanwhile there is plenty to see, including the Brighton Wheel.

The Brighton Wheel is a recent but well-regarded feature on the historic seafront.

The latest addition to Brighton is the much more controversial i-sore i360 tower, supported by taxpayer guarantees (private investors backed away). This photo shows the current state of building. A donut shaped glass ring will be added, but basically this is it: an industrial chimney dominating the city. Every time I see it I think that Shoreham power station has got that little bit closer.

Closer to ground level there is plenty of colourful graffiti…

And the local residents who really couldn’t care one way or the other 😉
