Coming Atcha!

The title will become clear in a moment, but I wanted to open with a photo taken early this morning as the sun was rising. It's not a photo of the sun though; it's the other sky light, the moon just preparing to set.

Now for the title shots. The pond is currently home to a substantial number of black-headed gulls. I've taken numerous photos but for one reason or another they've not featured in my posts. I took this sequence at lunchtime today. Someone had started feeding them which is the perfect time to catch them on the wing.

Nice, unusual shot of the moon! And the black-headed gulls are very delicate. I've seen a few up here, along with the bigger species.

Adele, thanks. I liked the way the moon was peeping out, and the slight tinge of colour on the cloud.

Cynthia, thanks. The early morning is such a good time to get out with the camera. And at this time of year it's also quite a civilized time to be up and about! That helps.
