Just a simple entry today, of the lone cormorant that’s been hanging around at Falmer Pond recently.
Camera note: all photos taken with the Canon 1DX Mark II and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens.

14 Sep 2018Paul, I love those shots! You must have needed a lot of patience. A few months ago, two Cormorants were seen on the Ouse river, very close to the little humped bridge. I watched them diving – and then waited for ages for them to surface. I had to be careful to spot them, because they didn’t surface exactly where they had dived!
I have never seen Cormorants in Lewes before, nor since.

15 Sep 2018Thanks Magdalena. I’m not sure where this one comes from, but every year one or two find their way to Falmer. It’s fairly easy to spot where they will surface in the pond as you can watch the ripple. That would be more difficult in a river as it’s not such a smooth surface.
