Duck on Wall and a Pretty Pony

The cold bite of winter is with us at the moment, though nothing compared to many other parts of the world. Cold enough though for me; but not too cold to stop me grabbing some photos when the opportunity arises. Like these ducks early this morning, proudly parading on the church wall.

And at lunchtime I met a pony, with a perfect shaggy coat to keep out the cold.

Ducks do find some strange places to perch. I like the last shot of the pony 🙂

Pony was coming you way. Did you have a sugar cube for him? 😀

I was at a horse event last weekend and they were talking about shaving the horses to help them stay cool! What a contrast to your pony having long hair to keep him warm! I think your ducks are trying to read the notice board!

Lois, yes they certainly need to keep warm at the moment. You're right about those ducks. They are just like the 'ladies guild' reading a church notice. I couldn't quite get the right angle without disturbing them though.

Darko, well the pony thought I might have had a sugar cube or an apple, but it was out of luck 🙁 I only had the camera.

Adele, the female mallards have taken a strong liking to that wall in recent days. The pony is very cute.

No it didn't. Only foxes try that!

A rule in pony/horse country: Carry a couple of apples, carrots, or a sack of sugar cubes.
In deer country: Cigarettes (preferably without filtres.)

dW, I just read up on "deer and cigarettes" (very nearly a song title). Fascinating!
