Four Photos of Foxes

Well it was beautifully warm today, possibly the warmest day of the year so far. I spent much of my free moments looking for the local field foxes… without any success whatsoever. A distant rabbit was the best I could manage. I have no such problem back home, where it's all I can do to avoid tripping over little foxes. I think the original four cubs are now down to three 🙁 It's tricky to be certain, but there are three regulars who we see, and I've not spotted a fourth on the trail cam for a couple of weeks.

Of the three we do see, there is the dark one, the light one and the small pretty one (in that order from the front in this photo).

This is a better shot of the pretty one. She (?) is smaller than the other two, and slightly more placid.

Another shot of her (she poses beautifully).

And to close, here she is one more time with (I think) the paler of the other two foxes (it's easier to judge when they are together).

Getting to know them must be very satisfying.

Darko, Roofy was great fun to have around, but there's yet to be one that lives up to the old tree climbing dog fox.

dW, it takes a little while with cubs and I'll probably get confused again as they get bigger, but for now I can tell these three apart (but I know there's a fourth who could well be a doppelgänger for any of them).
