Things are looking very good out in the garden. Last night I spent about an hour watching fruitlessly for the foxes (and cub), getting no more than a glimpse as the adults flitted across the rear of the garden. I took one last look in the early hours of the morning and spotted the adult male sitting calmly at the back of the garden… with a cub!

He tolerated the camera for a short while…

And then they were gone…

That got me thinking about the trail camera. Was the interaction caught on film? I grabbed the data card this afternoon and have put together a small selection of clips. There are five fox cubs, and the clips show all of them together in a couple of sequences, plus other interactions with both of the adults.

I can see some late night fox watching ahead…

Camera note: all photos taken with the Canon 7D Mark II and EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM lens. The video is from the Bushnell Trophy HD trail camera.
