The cold spell still lingers. March was colder than any of the preceding 4 months, and April is carrying on the trend. Temperatures barely climbing above 2° or 3°C (35-38°F), and snow on the ground. This is Brighton racecourse early this morning.

There were one or two dog-walkers about, and a handful of birds. The magpies were relatively abundant, and though I could hear the skylarks I only managed to spot one of them. Tricky little things to see, but nice to have them active again. I’m sure they would welcome some warmer weather.

Last shot is another landscape taken just before I headed in to work.

Lost here, too … the whole country's getting hammered, snow and rain with high winds, progressing from West to East.
Check out my Gemini album; it's a relief from local weather.

  8. dW, that album is astonishing!

  9. Thanks, Words. I've been saving those slides since the '70s … it finally paid off.
