Just a quick photo selection from today… The first group is a sequence of the fulmars at Rottingdean.
And now back to the pond. Some of the spawn has sunk a little overnight, but it is still attracting the greedy attention of the newts. The frog on sentry duty is not doing too well at protecting its brood.
And finally, a couple of shots of newts nearer the surface of the water.
Camera note: fulmars photographed with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. The pond sequence was taken with the EF 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM lens.

The fulmars are so entertaining! Great pictures!
Thanks Steffi!
Robin, thanks! I also got some video of the fulmars which I'm still editing.
And thanks Darko!
Lois, thanks!
Erwin, thanks!
Lovely markings on that last newt. It almost has cheetah-spots! :cat:
Adele, yes the males become quite extravagant in their markings at this time of year.
That head-on shot of the fulmar is interesting, even if you do end up looking straight up his nostril(?).
Mick, that's is indeed its nostril. Fulmars are tube-nosed birds. The main function of the tube is to excrete salt. This enables them to survive by drinking sea water during long periods away from land!
Wonderful shots
