Absurdly glorious weather today… somewhere around 28°C. Almost too hot and not in fact ideal photography weather, but the sun does produce great end of day light which is when I captured one of the neighbourhood cats prowling around the garden. It's really not as stern a moggy as it's pretending to be in this shot.
The warm evenings are a boon for the amphibians, and I spotted this frog hunting along the edge of the pond tonight.
The final (and title shot) is a first for me. I must have taken thousands of photos of frogs over the years, but this is the first time I've caught one 'mouth wide open'. A lucky shot… but one I'm pleased to have got.
Camera note: frog shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM lens. The cat was photographed with the EF 400mm f/5.6L USM lens.

2 Oct 2011Pretty little Moggy and she has a sweet face, even though she looks thoroughly put out that she is being photographed. And the frogs! Delightful little creatures.
I love your photos, as always.

4 Oct 2011Marilyn, thanks. It made a change to get some 'action' shots of the frogs.

4 Oct 2011Adele, that's one of several regular felines that we have. They're nice, but I wish the foxes were as frequent.
I was happy to get the frog like that. 😀
