An afternoon working in the garden… with just a brief spell of sunshine as it slipped out from beneath the cloud cover. The small birds were flitting among the trees and although I only took a few shots, it was good to be out there.
A pair of goldfinches

And greenfinches

Even a starling got into the act.

Tomorrow looks cold, but sunny. That's fine with me.

  1. Lois, thanks. That last shot was in the 'lucky' category, but a nice moment.

  2. Adele, the goldfinches seem to be doing well locally, and I've seen plenty of greenfinches and some chaffinches. No siskins down here, or bramblings.

  3. Always good to see the finches. I wonder how the weather has affected the siskins and bramblings – not that I've seen either so far this winter.

  4. Wonderful photos. I love the way you've caught them just landing/taking off in the last one.

  5. The flightpicture is great. 🙂

  6. Steffi, thanks. It's always nice when they move at the right moment.

  7. I know too well from my budgies.
But in wild birds, it is still difficult.

  8. Erwin, thanks!
