Heron Delights

I am beginning to get my London bearings. This is my starting point in the morning, on the edge of what is probably the most congested road in London.

At lunchtime the escape is the park. Among the joggers, the boxers, the tourists, the office workers, the nannies, the tai chi-ists, there are the other denizens of central London: the squirrels, the birds, and today… the herons. For those interested, these were taken near the York Gate entrance to the park.

And what I think is my favourite shot, the most London shot…

As for the foxes, I was right about the male fox lurking yesterday. He appeared on the trail cam shortly after I'd come inside. I had better luck tonight with Cheeky…

Oh my, your pictures make me to think I live in a desert where's hardly no wildlife at all 🙁 But prabaly I'm just unexperienced and lazy to keep my eyes (and shutter) open 😀

The most Londoniest shot is great, no place for a mistake where it was made…
:sst: even though I guess it could be actually made anywhere in England :left:

    Not anywhere, Dare! 😉

Really like the reflection in the first shot. I'm over by St James' Park so I can identify with the tourist issue :insane:

    Beautiful shots!

Darko, next time I'll try to take a photo of it flying in front of one of the more obvious landmarks!

Sami, all the London parks are great for wildlife. It's impossible not to notice it!

The pelicans think they rule the park! Strange birds.

Adele, being near one of the parks was a key condition for me working in London. You must have pelicans along with the tourists (and squirrels and pigeons) on your side of town.
