Learning to Read (and some foxes in the snow)

A short post today. There was a small snow fall overnight. Nothing to stop the traffic (which is saying something for England), but enough to put the finest layer on the ground this morning.

No cormorants then, but at lunchtime they were back in intermittent drizzle and rain. It seems one of them has been taking lessons. You can see how it's mouthing the words as it carefully reads the 'No Fishing' sign. We have educated cormorants in these parts 😉 But will they learn?

The bulk of the snow fell between about 4.30-6.30 am. That's the beauty of a trail cam. I don't have to stay up late to find out these things, or to see the local foxes gathering together. Three of them in this clip.

Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens. Video clip from the Bushnell Trophy Cam HD

Darko, how true! I bet it decides it's a question: No fishing? Yes, fishing! 😀

Not much snow, but I'm still glad that I'm not commuting into London…

Adele, commuting is dire so good to hear that you don't! Snow is on the way apparently, and depending how much we get my modest 2.5 mile commute to work might be next to impossible up here.

 And probably it just thinks how convenient place it is to hang out and fish 😆

Sami, and it's a sure indication that there are fish in the pond. Why else have a sign? 😉
