It's still very muddy on the Downs, but with some clearer skies I ventured out to the fields this lunchtime. Being able to get out into real countryside is one of the pleasures of living and working in close proximity to the South Downs National Park.

Here are some young lambs enjoying the improved weather and food on tap.

And well fed, time for play.

While I was out there I also spotted a kestrel in the distance, and a buzzard flying over woodland.

    Well, maybe.

  3. nice shots

  4. Darko, I guess she must have taken fright as there are so many little lambs to take care of.

  5. Erwin, thanks!

  6. dW, I think the weather is unsure whether it is spring, autumn or winter at the moment. It does know that it's not summer… in fact I fear it's forgotten that summer is an option!

  7. Poor lambs – such a cold and wet March. Good to see the buzzard.

  8. Surely, you didn't expect to give me a straight line like that and not expect me to respond?

  9. dW, thanks for that. A totally new one on me. :sing:

  10. Adele, it's not so bad here, but in other parts of the country there must be real problems for sheep farmers with so much snow just after lambing. Not pleasant.
