The fox cubs are becoming more adventurous which means I hope to be getting a few more ‘action’ shots of them in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, I’ve been taking some portraits of them. These are generally posed at the top of some low steps so that I can angle the camera slightly upward. This makes the cub appear larger but also helps kill the background shrubs and trees.

The final shot is a cub running across the garden, also taken on 27th May.

Camera note: firts four photos taken with the Canon 7D Mark II and EF 200mm f/2.8L II USM lens. The final shot was taken with the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM which gives me more room to capture action and behaviour.

  1. They are certainly growing up fast.

  2. Excellent shots, Paul ! They’re very healthy-looking.

  3. What to say, you are so lucky to have them 🙂

  4. Thanks all! They are real little foxes now, but still tiny compared with the adults. A couple of them are getting very confident and are starting to approach us when we go outside.
