More Fox Photos

After a few days of only visiting late into the night, the bold vixen has been back at a more human hour… these from last night and tonight.

And a short video from earlier the week. We've had several visits from one of the local badgers… and a possible explanation as to why the vixen has been other engaged.

Does she still have those patches on her other side?

That's a great clip of the two foxes together!

We had some excitement here last week when an absolutely huge, ancient-as-the-hills dogfox from out in the meadows wandered in. He was the biggest fox I've ever seen in the garden – massively broad head, tall with a solid build and a coat like a small wolf's! As to whether the vixen prefers him or the humbler Silver Dogfox, I do not know :right:

Mickey, the patches are still there, but I decided to show her good side 😉

Wojtek, the patches certainly make her easy to identify on the trail cam footage. I still don't know what they are though.

Adele, a newcomer to your garden! That's great.

Lois, it's hard to tell if or when we will see the cubs. Much depends on where their den is. If it's close by it's possible that the cubs will appear around April or early May.

The coat that side does look so good it's hard to believe. I wasn't sure about the video, I thought it might just be the light.

Mickeyjoe, the first time I saw those patches on the trail cam I wasn't at all sure what they were. From what I can tell she did go missing for a couple of weeks before the marks appeared, so an injury is possible. Fine now though.
