It's been a quiet week, with very few photographic opportunities.
But this little fellow popped his head out tonight!

And this was lurking by the pond

There was a squirrel too

And a flying tree-bag!

Camera Note: Mouse and grub taken with the Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG macro lens; the squirrel was captured with the EF70-300mm 4.5-5.6 DO IS, and the 'tree-bag' with the EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM.

  1. I think it's the invisible Cat in the Hat 😉

  2. "Tree Bag" can be fairly common in urban areas but it appears you found the rare plumage striped version. 😉

  3. Hehe 😆 The mouse and Squirrel look happy, its been a very wet and windy week, lets hope it improves soon.:)

  4. 😆 Most unusual colour morph! :eyes:

Another great shot of that little mouse. I hope his feeding perch was more stationary for him this time. I would have thought that he would get sick, eating while swinging around in the wind…but maybe mice don't suffer from motion sickness!

  5. I've been trying to identify the exact species of flying tree bag but no luck yet – I'm guessing it's a greater striped variety though. :p

Love the mouse shot! He's such a cute little fellow!

  6. Little mousey is so cute!! I want one!! 😉

  7. Mark, well the weather during the day wasn't much of an improvement, but it cleared up nicely this evening. The forecast for the week ahead is a bit mixed, but hopefully better towards the end of the week. Just call me Michael Fish!

  8. Vulpes, a 'greater striped' sounds good to me.

  9. Adele, I've no idea what that caterpillar is. As for the mouse, I don't think they mind the movement. They spend so much time in the trees that they must get used to it. I've a suspicion they've got a little nest up there somewhere!

  10. Chris, LOL! 😆

  11. Flying Tree-Bag???????? OH my LORD… 😆 😆 😆
THAT caught me off guard.. You got me wiping tears from my eyes and my tummy hurts from laughing. Thanks so much for that, I sure needed a good laugh!

    Perfect!

  12. BitzyMe, Thanks! Glad you liked it. Unfortunately it's not a frequent visitor, otherwise I'd teach it tricks.

  13. That picture was the shot in the arm I needed.
It just tickeled my funny bone to no end. I posted a shot of my Jeb for you in 365. He's a hard one to catch, Never sits still. Jeb reminds me of a fox, his size, shape and ears. He's a brindle cairns terrier and he will become more orange and brown as he gets older. He's only 6 mos. old right now.

  14. Shame on you for surprising the poor mouse while he's eating. :irked:

He does looks surprised to see you 😆

  15. Mickeyjoe, they do have a great startled look don't they. But it knew I was there alright,
