After some considerable faffing about I've managed to get my home page to show on one of my new domains. The actual address is www.permuted.org (the .uk version will be the main address) and anyone interested can now go an see what all the fuss was about 'blinking buttons'… Phew… at least some of it works! The other domains are still mid-registration.
