I'm pleased to report that my computer troubles are over for now. My desktop machine is back up and running. It's been scanned thoroughly, and two pieces of malware removed. They were in my cache, which is slightly bizarre as I clean that nightly; but I guess it was 'sticky'. Everything is now back to normal. I may well still do an upgrade, though it's less urgent than it was.

Trouble over, it's back to photography and a few shots taken early this morning, starting with sheep grazing on a hillside.

There were numerous crows in the area, which is hardly unusual but I got some nice poses.

The pied wagtails were also showing off.

Among all the normality there was one new sighting for me. A little grebe.

  1. More nice shots. Looks like a fine day.

Glad it wasn't such a BIG, big deal to get everything back up and running smoothly.

  2. :hat: You tamed the "computer beasts" 😀

    Wonderful crow pictures :wizard:

  3. Sami, I've only once given up on a computer and even then I did manage to rescue all my data. This time proved relatively straightforward.

The crows were on good form yesterday!

  4. Erwin, thanks!

  5. Cynthia, thanks! We're hitting very changeable weather now. It was windy, but otherwise pretty good.

The computer wasn't as bad as feared, but I'm still planning to upgrade to Windows 7, but at least can take my time over that and make sure I've got everything saved/secure.

  6. Nice catch of the dabchick! We got taken to a corvid roost last week for learning counting techniques. I now compulsively count every bird flock that flies overhead :insane:

  7. Adele, thanks! You'll know counting has become compulsive when you start insisting on going in search of starlings!

  8. And the crows counted you.
