I took these shots in the early hours of Monday morning. The bold vixen was lurking at the front of the garden, leaving just one of the cubs ferreting around.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 40D and EF 24-105 F4L IS USM lens.
What a perfect little fox! In the first shot I can see that mischievous smile on it's face!

Lovely! "Ferreting around" is quite an apt description! 😆

In all the previous photos, the fox cubs looked very cautious and tentative. In today's photos this little fox cub looks like it owns the place. 😀

I know this is very wrong, but I still want to give it a hug  I hope your camera can cope with having fox cubs in the garden – I think I'd be wearing mine out! 😆

Thanks for all the comments. The cubs are delightful (and yes I was still thinking about the stoat when I said "ferreting around"). I'm leaving them plenty of time on their own until they get more used to me, but they do seem to be growing in confidence 😀
