One swallow may not make a summer, but I'm hoping today was an exception. We took some time out on the downs and sure enough overhead were not one, but three, swallows. I only managed a couple of shots (not of all three together), and the results aren't great. But first sightings of the year are always worth recording.
Edit: this second one is a Swift (see comments. And thanks to Sitting Fox for the correction)
Despite the heat, the day was strangely humid and by late afternoon the distant haze was strong.
It was a good day for insect spotting. These next photos are in the Butterflies and Bugs album.
Green-veined White butterfly
Red damsel fly
Blue damsel fly
Oh, and I'm about to reveal the secret of the roof top fox! Keep watching 😉

Three cheers for the damsel flies! (I think the second bird may be a swift, though.)
Did you get a tripod? You're getting great results
No tripod. Those were with the long lens.
Swift? I did wonder (briefly) when I looked at it, but they were flying together so I assumed they were all swallows. I've just done a re-edit of the photo and re-checked my field guide. I'm pretty sure you're right. So thanks 🙂 That makes two firsts in the day (but probably no summer)
Having fun with that macro lens!
Lovelly photos:D I think i saw a Swallow yesterday flying around but it might have been a Swift because it was gliding in the wind.
