Pier

A couple of quick shots of Eastbourne Pier taken at lunchtime today.

A few gulls were pecking on the shingle beach (but nothing worth photographing), and a pigeon landed on railings near where I was standing.

More rain forecast for tomorrow, so another quiet day is on the cards.

The Pier's not exactly thronged with holiday-makers at this time if year, is it?
Has that pigeon got a ring?

Spring?! It's freezing out there :smurf:

Interesting to see Eastbourne Pier. Unfortunately I haven't seen much of the town except the station yet (it would be nice if someone could schedule a Hastings – Brighton train that doesn't loiter in Eastbourne, I have to say). The pier looks in good shape compared to many others around the south coast.

dW, no ring on the pigeon (I checked). It is quiet at this time of year, and it was a cold day as well. It gets busier as the weather warms up.

Adele, I always find it strange that the Brighton-Hastings train has to reverse out of Eastbourne and go back the other way. The Eastbourne pier is faring rather better than many. I think the plans for Hastings pier are progressing and I hope they have more success than the Brighton West Pier has had over the years.

More icy weather on the way. Winds heading due south from the Arctic by mid-week. :smurf:

Kathy, there are a lot of holiday towns along the coast here. If only we had decent weather it would be perfect.
