The damselflies have finally emerged in number. Not yet swarms of them, but they are establishing themselves in several corners of the garden.
And of course being damselflies, they are already making sure that we'll be well stocked next year 😉
Still no luck with the foxes though. There's a skinny vixen who does come by nightly, but she is incredibly skittish. Even alone in the garden at night she seems jumpy, so it wasn't a surprise when she entered the garden this evening and exited before I could even fully grasp that she was there. One day soon, perhaps. And I will put together some video of her.
Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM lens.

1 May 2011Wonderful closeups! What an eye :eyes:
Sounds like you're going through a bit of a fox drought but it'll pass soon enough.

2 May 2011Adele, thanks! I must search out some dragonflies soon. Damsels are fine, but so small. The last couple of days have been marginally better with the foxes, so with a bit of luck I'll be seeing more of them soon.

2 May 2011Lois, they are like little flashes of light and colour as they fly around. We had quite a lot at the back of the garden today, sheltering from the wind.

7 May 2011Neil, thanks! Having the trail cam stops me wondering too much about the foxes (I know they're around). The damsels are a nice addition to the garden at this time of year.
