Photos from today's airshow at Shoreham… I wasn't at the show, but at friend's house a mile or so away from the airfield and just beneath the turning circle. Great views despite the grey skies and somewhat delayed start due to the weather conditions. Quite amazing that some of these planes are still flying.

Fantastic!! What we saw was spectacular, just a shame there wasn't more of it.

Thank you so much for coming over.

  4. Jill, thanks!

  5. Darko, those plastic (Airfix) models were great. I built loads of them when I was a kid. This just shows how realistic they were. 😉

  6. Kerith, unbelievably it looks like we got the 'good weather' yesterday! Thank you for providing the perfect venue 🙂

The talk of plastic models reminds me of the plastic woodpigeons 😆

  8. Adele, you mean this discussion?

  9. Indeed!

  10. Excellent!

I went on the Catalina and the pilot said that this was one of only a few airworthy Catalinas around, the other two being in Canada and The USA and for only £3 you were allowed in and i went in to escape the rain lol!

Its very interesting, i will do my report when i come back from my temporary cancelled trip to Mersea island with PHAB, iam well enough to go back tomorrow i think hopefully)

I thought that because it was the only "Cat" flying they wouldnt risk the weather but it did well flying at 300ft cloudbase!

  11. I bet it was fun going in the Catalina. Beautiful looking plane. The cloud base was ridiculously low… the planes were disappearing just above our heads. A bit of sunshine would have been welcome but it was still enjoyable.

Hope things go well with the trip to Mersea tomorrow.
