We’re still going through the damp and gloom, but despite the grey there is still a touch of colour out there somewhere.
For a few minutes this morning the rising sun found a break in the clouds as it rose over the Downs. The moment was brief, but time enough to catch these shots of a moorhen on a golden Falmer Pond.
The sun had long disappeared by the time I took this next sequence, but robins don’t need sunshine: they shine for themselves as this little chap proves.
Camera note: all photos taken with the Canon 7D Mark II and EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens.

8 Jan 2015Beautiful photographs, Words. Did you add a bit of saturation on robins or this is combination of good light and lens?

9 Jan 2015Darko, I didn’t add any saturation, but I processed them in ‘camera standard’ mode which does boost the contrasts slightly. It’s the standard setting for the camera, but tweaked to remove any in camera sharpening.
