Night View and Badger

A short post tonight. I’ve spent the bulk of the evening watching for foxes and badgers. No luck at all on the former, but finally a brief encounter with the latter. I could hear them well enough, but they seemed intent on staying on the far side of the fence.

While I waiting I took a few shots of the view from the garden. This was hand-held at 1/60s, f/2/8 and ISO 10,000.

As for the badger… looking healthy, and putting on weight for winter 😉

A Few More Badger Photos

The foxes may be being elusive, but the badgers are doing their level best to compensate. Here’s a few shots taken last night.

Today was relatively quiet, and wet for much of the time. This pretty mallard was possibly the highlight.

Badger Visits, plus a Kingfisher

The title covers just a couple of today’s featured wildlife. The badger was photographed last night. It’s a very regular visitor to the garden, but generally rather shy.

Today took me past Seven Sisters. It’s always a good place for birds, and today was on the upper end of the scale. There were numerous cormorants:

Several little egrets (this is the pick of the shots)…

Rabbits…

A rainbow 😉

And most special of all, a kingfisher. I saw it flash past along the water, catching me by surprise and attempted to track its flight as it disappeared into the distance. This is probably the pick of the shots (heavily cropped).

Last word to last night’s badger:
