It’s Black and White at Seven Sisters

It was a glorious morning as I headed out of town, pausing for a short while at Seven Sisters Country Park near Eastbourne. The mists were rising as I arrived, and the sheep (there’s a black sheep in among them) were playing follow-the-leader across a distant field.

Sheep on South Downs

Down at water level, the mists had cleared. The water was still, and the swans were looking their puffed and preened best.

Further along the bank, some Canada geese were idling away the morning.

An egret flew over in the distance, and a grey heron came in somewhat closer.

The final sequence is a cormorant coming in to land on the water, looking for an easy breakfast.

That was a very nice start to the day!

Duck Goose Sheep

Not a great deal to set pulses racing today, just a few portrait-style shots (if a flying duck counts as a portrait).

This greylag goose adopted a more conventional pose.

And now the sheep, one of a small flock in the field at the edge of the car park at work.

Opposite the Amex Stadium

I was back out in the fields today looking for buzzards. Unsuccessfully as it happens, but the woods were coming into their own with the morning sunshine, and the sheep were grazing in the shadow of the Amex Stadium (American Express Community Stadium to give it its full name).

The wood is full of trees. Nothing unusual there, even though a good number are prone. These are both long-time fallers, but they add some character and colour to the woodland floor.

The sheep had obviously had a hard morning grazing. This one was taking a nap when I returned at lunchtime.

A couple of others were hanging out at the bar 😉

So the weather holds up (more or less) for another day. Tomorrow looks good too. This little blue tit hopes it stays that way for a little longer.
