The Spawn is Developing

Just a couple of shots from the pond…
The tadpoles are beginning to take shape

And one shot of a newt… it was raining and the distortion is caused by the rain disturbing the surface of the water…

Camera note: the spawn were taken with the Canon 40D and Sigma 105mm F2.8 EX DG macro lens and Sigma EM-140 DG ring flash. I used the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM for the newt.

Very interesting to see tadpoles before they are fully developed. The rain made a nice effect on the water.

Lois, the tadpole are fascinating, if strangely alien.

Does feel very alien :alien: Interesting effect with the newt photo – almost like being photographed through thick glass!
