Ok, today is a few shots taken in the garden which is always a surprisingly good place for wildlife. The first shots are from the early hours of Saturday morning (ie just after midnight yesterday). It started quietly enough… a few young newts in the pond, and this handsome frog.

The main activity though was on the bird feeder. No birds at that time of night, but a return visit by a greedy wood mouse. I’m always amazed at how tolerant these little things are of the camera and flash. The one thing that does spook them, however, is the slightest noise if I step on a twig. Then they are off in a flash.

Now for the third of the three visitors, and yes it’s a fox. Shutterbug to be precise, sporting a heavy limp. He’s picked up some sort of injury to a front paw. The visit was fleeting, while we were doing some much needed garden clearance. He just walked the length of the garden and disappeared through the fence at the rear.

Nice of SB to stop and say TaTa on his way out!

  3. Shutterbug disappeared but not without saying :bye:

    😀

  4. Yah, some really nice shots!

  5. Darko, we always insist that our visitors are polite 😉

  6. Robin, thanks! The mouse used to be a regular, so it's good to see it back again getting ready for winter (I assume). SB was limping heavily, otherwise was in fine shape.

  7. Cynthia, thanks!

  8. Marilyn, thanks. A few more shots up in a short while.

  9. I suppose he had to pick up a limp at some point. I hope he's not too uncomfortable though.

That mouse is very cute 😀

  10. Adele, I imagine he'll be fine. He was due for an injury. I haven't had a seriously limping fox for quite a while.
