Delighted to discover that we have a very fine resident toad in the garden. Unlike frogs, they are very purposeful in their movements, and ‘freeze’ if you look at them for too long. This one seems to enjoy roaming around the front of the garden, and clambers up and over any manner of obstacle.
Camera note: first photo taken with the Canon 1DX Mark II and EF 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM lens. Second pic with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens.

7 Aug 2018I always think of toads as ‘Mister’ but to be honest I don’t know how to tell the difference.

5 Aug 2018A small change from the foxes (but I still hope the foxes are around) 🙂
We just returned from Newfoundland and we’ve seen a couple of juvenile foxes near someone’s shed in Elliston (where I was photographing Atlantic Puffins) 🙂

7 Aug 2018I saw your fab photos from Newfoundland on Facebook. Our foxes are still very much around (three of them: Pretty (sometimes) and Scamp and Long Nose. The two young ones are enjoying the good weather.
