It's been wet, very wet, for most of the weekend (and all of today). The rain has started to ease in the last hour which allowed me a brief window to take a quick look round the garden. Very little to see, but the newts really don't mind if it rains. The distortion in some shots is caused by drops of rain hitting the water.

I'll keep this short and sweet, and close with a brief trail cam clip from last night: Two Friendly Foxes.

Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 7D and EF 100mm f/2.8L macro IS USM lens.

  1. Nice clip of the foxes grooming.

Yes, excellent weather for newts. England is becoming a paradise for aquatic species…

  2. D'awww, the newt looks like it's sniffing a flower in the first photo.

  4. Foxes, they might be a family?

  5. he thinks he's a gator! small things think they are big shots!

  6. Adele, thanks! Too true about aquatic species. I think I'm developing gills. :right:

  7. Felix, those little plants can really get in the way of a photo. Most of the time its head was directly underneath it.

  8. kathy, they boss the pond, so I guess it's only a question of 'scale'. 😉

  9. Erwin, thanks!

  10. Darko, I think so. The fox nearer the camera is a pregnant vixen. 😀
