We were watching the garden this evening, crouched at the front of the garden. A dog was barking in a neighbouring garden, and we could hear an animal moving about nearby, possibly under a shed. After 20 minutes or so, the fox finally appeared. He was cautious, but paused for few moments at the top of the step at the rear of the garden. Not for long, but long enough for three photos. And he didn't run off, just retreated to the security of the bushes at the back, first on one side of the garden, then the other. We shared the space (at long distance) for about five minutes.

An hour or so later we were outside again, and again he came into the garden, though this time revealing nothing more than eye shine. But this is progress indeed!

It's a fox!

Camera note: photo taken with the EF70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM lens, at 110mm focal length, slight crop.

[4
1128
post-1310","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-foxes","tag-fox","entry
["GET
