They can be seen hovering over grasslands (and motorways). They feed mainly on small mammals (voles), but in summer months also take insects (crickets are favoured).<\/p>\n<p>The males are distinguished by size (smaller) and the grey head plumage. Females have a more variegated head plumage.<\/p>\n<p>This gallery shows just a few sample shots. Further galleries of kestrels with prey will be added.
