{"id":30505,"date":"2023-03-05T17:35:05","date_gmt":"2023-03-05T17:35:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/?page_id=30505"},"modified":"2023-03-05T22:42:09","modified_gmt":"2023-03-05T22:42:09","slug":"patti-smith","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/misc\/patti-smith\/","title":{"rendered":"Patti Smith"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I&#8217;ve been a fan of Patti Smith since 1975, and saw her a lot during those early punk years in the 70s when she was an absolutely transformative figure in music.<br>These photos are from 2005\/2006, taking in a couple of Meltdown shows (Horses and the Hendrix nights), a performance at the Brighton Dome, and finally a more intimate acoustic performance at London&#8217;s South Bank. Tom Verlaine was part of the touring band during this period. They were taken with either an Olympus 3.2MP camera (tiny) or a Canon bridge 5MP bridge camera, so fairly basic equipment in comparison with what you can get these days.
