This was close to where I&#39;ve taken previous close-ups, but probably the first time I&#39;ve seen it in an extended hunting pattern. Unfortunately the light was poor and for most of the time it was a case of watching rather than photographing. I did manage a couple of ok snaps (more for the record than anything else).<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/kestrel_2212079124.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>It was fairly quiet up there and apart from a few seagulls and crows, there wasn&#39;t too much else in evidence although I did spot a robin lurking in the hedgerow, and a pair of stonechats hopping along the fence posts and dropping down into the fields. This next shot is the male of the pair.<br \/><span class='imgcenter'><img alt='' src='https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/stonechat_2212079166.jpg' \/><\/span> <\/p>\n<p>Much of the rest of the day was taken up with experimenting with close-up photography.
