There are the gulls of course, but we also have nest boxes scattered about the place which are now becoming very noisy and active. I've also spotted some sites where jackdaws are raising young (though they are well hidden from the camera). I've been tipped off about a family of foxes in one of the nearby fields (I've not seen them yet), and another site where a fairly bold fox has been seen quite regularly. One thing's for sure, a lunch hour isn't long enough. And that's not counting time to go chasing dragonflies!

Anyway, today I decided on a truncated route. First off was a quick check on the gulls. I caught them mid nap 😉

Then it was down to see the bird boxes. This one has a resident family of blue tits.

I was already running short of time, but decided to head for the fields. I didn't make it to where the foxes have been reported as I was captivated by a rather bold (or foolhardy) young rabbit.

In fact I didn't see any foxes on Friday at all. But just as the clock ticked over into Saturday I looked outside and saw the old dog fox accompanied by the bold vixen. These two seem to be taken with each other ;). They were together on Thursday night, as well as on numerous other occasions recently. I had the wrong lens on the camera on Thursday, so struggled to get decent shots. I was better prepared today.

Camera note: gull chicks photo with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens + Kenko Teleplus 1.4x Pro 300 DG teleconverter; the blue tit and rabbit were taken with the same lens minus the teleconverter; and the foxes were photographed with the EF 24-105 F4L IS USM.

[980,4,8,989
33,1177,1128,1130
post-1146","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-birds-2","category-foxes","category-rabbit","category-water-birds-birds-2","tag-birds","tag-chick","tag-fox","tag-rabbit","entry
["GET
