Of course there were gulls, the <a href=\"http:\/\/my.opera.com\/Words\/albums\/showpic.dml?album=240536&amp;picture=7885428\" target=\"_blank\">black-headed<\/a> and herring gulls mainly, but I&#39;m fairly certain there were also some common gulls mixed in among them. I must mug up on my sea-bird identification. One bird though, is unmistakeable: the cormorant. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/cormorant_2707089955.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img SRC=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/07\/cormorant_2707089955.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">Cormorant<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were facing open sea so there were no resting places for them, but several times one swept along the coast.
