I saw the peahen at the side of the road. Too good an opportunity to miss so I pulled into the side and took a few shots. Fortunately it&#39;s a quiet lane and there was no traffic about. Before that I&#39;d been over to the fields where I saw the <a href=\"http:\/\/my.opera.com\/Words\/blog\/2008\/08\/12\/english-pastoral-scene\" target=\"_blank\">sheep yesterday<\/a>. There wasn&#39;t too much activity until I noticed a tiny speck of movement in the far corner of one of the fields. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/deer_1308080527.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img SRC=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/deer_1308080527.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">This is full frame at 400mm focal length<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes, a roe deer and fawn out in the weak early morning sun. This is the first time I&#39;ve had any sighting of the local deer. I was far too far away for any decent shots, but watched as they made their way along the edge of the field.
