The theory that it only rains at weekends broke down today, but I doubt any of these creatures will mind too much. The first shots of the birds were taken at Surrey University campus this morning.<\/p>\n

That was this morning. Tonight, the rain held off (mostly), but my theory that damselfly nymphs are more active after the rain held good. The pond is teeming with them at the moment.<\/p>\n

Camera note: the birds were taken with the EF 100-400mm f\/4.5-5.6L USM IS lens, assisted by the internal flash (a mistake not to take the main unit with me).
