Very wrong. They were out in number. Here&#39;s a very small selection.<\/p>\n<p>The first two shots were taken in the early morning light. The woodpecker was doing its level best to avoid being photographed and I&#39;d all but given up when I managed this shot.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/gwp_0512082774.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img SRC=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/gwp_0512082774.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">A green woodpecker hides in a tree<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The kestrel emerged from the woods as I was heading to work. <br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/kestrel_0512082786.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img SRC=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/12\/kestrel_0512082786.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">and a kestrel hunts for breakfast<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>By lunchtime  the sun was out.
