I&#39;d gone to a path near some fields. It&#39;s a pretty spot, and there&#39;s usually something interesting to see.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/falmer_path_0203097487.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/falmer_path_0203097487.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"country path\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">The location<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This morning was no exception, but the highlight was undoubtedly this pretty little yellowhammer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/1yellowhammer_0203097518.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/1yellowhammer_0203097518.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"yellowhammer\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">Yellowhammer<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In stark contrast, I also saw this. On investigation it seemed to be an animal kill, possibly by a fox that had been disturbed. This is the non-gory image.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/rat_0203097527.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/rat_0203097527.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"rat\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">A dead rat<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At lunchtime I went over to the dew pond to check out how the spawn was getting on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/spawn_0203097567.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/spawn_0203097567.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"frog spawn\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">Frog spawn a-plenty!<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A lone kestrel was on look-out in the distance.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/kestrel_0203097554.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/kestrel_0203097554.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"kestrel\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">Kestrel<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And flitting along the fence which surrounds the pond, a tiny wren.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/wren_0203097581.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.permuted.org.uk\/photography\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/wren_0203097581.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" alt=\"wren\" \/><span class=\"aligncenter\">Wren<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>No fox update tonight. It&#39;s raining lightly, and, much as I&#39;m tempted, I haven&#39;t got any sensible way of keeping the camera dry.
