He appeared from the back of the garden and &#8211; I think for  the first time &#8211; stood and watched me. He retreated slowly to the compost area (out of line of sight), and continued his vigil for another minute or so before sliding away into the next garden. <\/p>\n<p>No sign of Bold tonight (yet).<br \/><span class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/natureblognetwork.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/natureblognetwork.com\/button.php?u=Words\" width=\"0\" height=\"0\" alt=\"Nature Blog Network\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/span><br \/><i>Camera note: all shots taken with the Canon 40D. The first two were with the EF 400mm f\/5.6L USM lens.
