The good news is that Bold came in over the garden fence this evening, which is the first time she's done that for a while. She was also happy to put some weight and stress on the injured leg (front left).

There's obviously still partial discomfort and I did catch her holding the leg up some of the time, but less frequently than before. She seems ok walking on it, but tends to revert to lifting it when she runs or stands. <\/p>\n

I also managed some shots of her injured (right) eye. I can't really tell what's caused the problem. It looks a bit weepy, but there's no obvious injury.

There seems to be some discharge in the lower corner of the eye. You can see it in this shot.

It's funny… In the early part of the year I thought 2009 was going to be a quiet year for foxes and I nearly got to the stage of abandoning the Fox of the Day<\/a> feature. Then the wild foxes<\/a> put in an appearance, and then finally Bold (who is more urban than wild) started showing up and has become an almost permanent fixture. In addition to Bold, the two other foxes are still appearing regularly on the trail cam. Whether or not this level of activity will continue through winter is anyone's guess. Usually it goes quiet (or the visits become intermittent). Time will tell. Meanwhile, Bold doesn't seem in a hurry to move on.
